Our scrap metal recycling premises in Aylesbury (head office), Kings Langley and Totternhoe focus exclusively on buying ferrous scrap metals, including scrap, end-of-life vehicles. These yards accept all grades of ferrous light iron, which can be segregated and shredded on-site, ready to be melted down and purified for reuse.
The sorting process for all light iron and heavy scrap iron is a simple process for our staff. As iron is magnetic, it can be quickly separated from all other recyclable scrap metal that we buy using powerful magnetic belts.
The recycling of ferrous light iron and heavy scrap iron helps to maximise the use of our world’s natural resources; reusing existing ferrous materials to minimise the need for new ore extraction.
Iron remains the most recycled scrap metal in the world and our customers commonly look to sell us end-of-life appliances, vehicles and containers, as well as used industrial machinery, all of which feature iron.
In addition to our ferrous scrap metal recycling premises above, we also buy non-ferrous metals at our Aylesbury site on the Gatehouse Industrial Estate.
By recycling non-ferrous metals like copper and aluminium, it is possible to make substantial energy savings for our planet. For instance, copper recycling practices require just a tenth of the energy required to extract its source material.
Non-ferrous metals like aluminium can be recycled infinitely. Even scrap aluminium items such as a recycled can of drink can generate enough power to operate a television for three hours and the metal itself can be back on the supermarket shelves within 60 days of recycling.
Vehicle owners can also recycle their end-of-life alloy wheels for cash at ASM Metal Recycling, allowing the separation of metals within the alloys so that they can be put to good use elsewhere. We’ll also accept end-of-life lead batteries from used or scrap vehicles.
